What's a deviantArt? What's a journal? I do not know what these things are apparently.
Anyways. Hello. Trying to type up anything of significant length these days is tiresome for me, one because I'm lazy, and two...because I'm lazy. Who am I kidding here; when have I ever been much for updating this thing in a semi-frequent manner?
So what have I been up to in my absence between last May and now. My summer was spent working as a radio operator for an air tanker base in my hometown, which meant sitting around in an office all day doing nothing waiting for forest fires to start. Lots of downtime, which was boring, but lots of overtime, which was awesome for my bank account. Not so awesome for my bank account is the fact I've kind of dove head first into the magical world of K-Pop fandom (which I might have hinted at in the past) so spending money on albums and DVDs has been a thing I've been doing. It's cheaper than conventions and cosplay, I'll give it that, though it could be argued that the frequency in which things are released evens that out. I'm not quite sure (though I do know I've been spending way less money on a whole as a result).
I didn't do anything for Halloween because I decided too late what kind of costume I wanted to make, and well...I wasn't going out so what was the point. And we all know my stance on cosplaying at PAX already (if you don't, it's that I just don't do it), so any new costumes there were a no-go. This more or less left my fall semester rather uneventful, although I did do some travelling: once to Vancouver Island for my birthday to hang out with
CanadianStrawberry, and again in November to go to BIG BANG's Los Angeles concert. Which was
fantastic (baby) and definitely something I'll remember for a long, long time.
In terms of things coming up, I will be attending Fan Expo this spring. No Sakura-Con this year sadly, as I'm taking a break from going. Who knows, I may go next year but we'll see. Fan Expo is nice and local, and rather chill so it should be fun. Cosplay-wise I'm not 100% sure on what I'll be doing both days. My friend Taryn and I are planning Catherine costumes (her as Catherine, me as Katherine), but as far as a second outfit goes it's still up in the air. I'm considering finally finishing Bayonetta, seeing as I've been sitting on the finished wig for almost three years now. I'd have to make everything else from scratch again though so, we'll see. I'm only taking three classes this semester since it's my last, so it's definitely doable--the last time I tried to make her I was doing a full five-course load on top of practicums and working theatre shows. (Also is the issue of transporting it since I don't have a car. Good luck me.)
So that's what's basically going on, both in my life and as far as cosplay goes. Sorry it's so boring, I really did not do a whole lot last semester besides school. Anyhow, catch you all the next time I feel like writing something (so like a year from now maybe). o/
